In our Christian walk we can take the things of God for granted and think on individual facts as trivial. Even though the Gospel is meant to be simple, when it comes to the greatness of God nothing is trivial. One concept that we need to understand in order to have a right relationship with God, is that God is perfect. God is more then a good god, he is Good incarnate. God is the standard by which good is judged.
Many Christians fail to see God as the true and loving father he is because of the failures of their own earthly fathers. Here we have a father who while he may be wrong is bigger then us and so we accept his rule because we’re too small to stand against it. Many Christians question God and his judgment but out of an apathetic submission they lay down and fell that right or wrong God is God.
To truly love and be loved by God we need to understand that while God’s servants, God’s church and God’s world are subject to imperfection, God himself isn’t. The bible says in Deuteronomy 32:3,4 ” I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.” Even Jesus himself said no one is holy but the lord.
God is perfect and that’s crutial to understanding who he really is. A God who just happens to be big enough to make the rules leaves us ill-equipped to fully love him. Take the time today to really process that no matter what happens, God’s will is perfect and his way is the one we should choose.
