I found a penny hidden in the proverbial couch that is religion and I’m excied. I started to write some messages and lessons from scripture and i didn’t make it through Gen 1:1 without God stoping me and placing a lesson in my heart. Gen 1:1 ”In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” in this, the first verse of the first book of the bible the foundation of salvation is revealed. before I explain I want to go on. v2 ”Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the water And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.”
I’m not going to go on but you can find the rest of the creation story in the bible. What I wanted to focus on is that the bible is an epic love story about a hero who falls in love but his brides heart gets curious and she runs away, then the hero spends the rest of the book trying to get her back. God is the hero and we are his bride. The bible revolves around the fact that we broke the bond with God and he wants to fix it. Every time someone gains a right relationship with God in the bible, it is through faith. So you see without believing Gen 1:1 there’s no hope for salvation. A relationship with Jesus is based on the understanding that God is God and we are not. While I know this seems simple ,there are many people who believe that they dictate what truth is simply by what they believe. If they believe we are all part of some spiritual hippy tree then that is truth. If they believe that people evolved from monkeys then that is truth. No matter your denomination or personal spiritual convictions, in order to follow God you need to recognise that he isn’t subject to science or the physical world or time, God is outside and above it all. This world didn’t create God, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God bless, Gregory
