The Knife Game

I’ve heard alot of grief for the word of faith people lately. I don’t understand it, I’m pro Jesus, I want to preach for Jesus and only Jesus but it seems like so many Christians want to be against stuff. They’re anti-Muslim, anti-Gay, anti-word of faith movement, anti-everything just about. I’m for Jesus and don’t get me wrong if you run to Jesus you will be running away from anything sinful but your target should be Jesus, not Mohamed.

Here’s a good illustration, the knife game. (please, please don’t try the knife game with a knife. Find an un-opened straw or something if you’re going to try it) Have you ever played the game where you take a knife and try to stab in between your fingers. Most people can’t do it because they try to not hit their fingers. If you focus on your fingers you will probably hit one even if the focus is trying not to hit one. What you should be doing is focusing on the spots where there are no fingers. Pay attention to the open spaces on the table and you should be fine, focus on not hitting your hand and you’ll probably end up in the hospital. Sin is the same thing, if you attack sin you’re probably going to sin and hurt lots of people in the process.  But if you focus on Jesus (the spot where there is no sin.) you’ll going to come out just fine and avoid sin. In Philippians Chapter 4 Paul writes

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

God Bless and remember Love God, Love each other, Divorce the World!
